Every year, we recruit bright, mature, and dedicated teenagers like YOU to make a difference at Frederick-Page 4-H Camp. Teen counselors work alongside peers and adult volunteers to supervise children ages 9-13, providing energy, enthusiasm, and leadership. Camp counselors are role models, friends, and leaders—making a positive impact that stays with younger campers for life. We need YOU to help us make the 4-H camp experience extraordinary!

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 14 years or older by January 1, 2025
  • A passion for leadership and working with youth

Camp Counselor Application Process

Deadline: November 22, 2024

  1. Complete the Google Form Application
  2. Provide 3 References
  3. Schedule a 15-Minute Zoom Interview
    • 🗓️ Interview Dates: December 17, 18, and 19, 2024

Counselor Training and Costs

  • Training Requirement: All counselors must complete annual training
  • Training Opportunities Include:
    • Teen and Adult Leader Training (TALT)
      • 🛏️ When: March 7-8, 2025 (Overnight)
    • Camp planning, team-building sessions, and risk management workshops
  • Camp Counselor Cost: $330 (scholarships available)
  • Scholarship Opportunity:
    • Recruitment Incentive Scholarship:
      • Receive $20 off camp fees for each friend you recruit who registers as a counselor! 🎉
      • No limit to the number of friends you can recruit!

What to Expect as a 4-H Camp Counselor

  • Supervise and mentor campers (ages 9-13)
  • Develop leadership, responsibility, and teamwork skills
  • Be part of "Party in the USA" 4th of July celebrations 🎇
  • Create lifelong friendships and memories

Each summer, Frederick County 4-H offers opportunities for youth to participate in coeducational day and overnight camping experiences. Camps may be offered through state-wide enrollment or by a specific county.
